WYOMING — With a simple, made-to-order menu, fresh ingredients and speedy service, Booyah Burgers & Bites has brought an updated version of the classic burger joint to the Wyoming Valley.

Located at 2022 Wyoming Ave., Booyah offers a variety of sandwich, chicken bite and salad options in an atmosphere where customers can order at the counter, get their meals quickly and get on with their day.

The restaurant’s “from the grill” menu features three items: a cheese burger, grilled or crispy chicken. Customers can customize their sandwiches, choosing from a list of free and premium toppings including lettuce, tomato, raw and grilled onion, mushrooms, bacon, jalapenos and several sauces.

Chicken bites comes crispy or grilled with a choice of nine sauces.

Other menu items include chicken strips, beer battered shrimp and three salad options. Booyah has a short list of children’s portions as well.

The place has the feel of an old-fashioned burger hut with booth seating, an open kitchen and a basic menu adding to the charm.

“We aim to have a small menu and do it all well,” manager Allie Marino said.

Marino, of Pringle, said customers enjoy the fresh meat and the Booyah seasoning, a proprietary mix of spices used on several menu items. The buffalo sauce, she said, is a particular hit with those who order bites.

“I also think customers enjoy that they can see into the kitchen,” Marino said. “We do things right, and we take pride in a clean kitchen.”

Chef and general manager Dan Krogulski, of Exeter, said every menu item is made from scratch in house.

“We wanted to keep it as fast and fresh as possible for our customers,” Krogulski said. “The meat we’re getting is a 81:19 double fine grind. It’s a high quality beef, but you’re also getting that greasy hamburger feel.”

Fries are hand cut.

“They’ll get fresh, crispy fries every time they order,” Krogulski said. “It took us a while to find the perfect potato, but we found a great frying potato.”

Krogulski said he’s heard positive feedback along the lines of, “This is the best burger I’ve had in my life,” and people rave about the homemade sauces, but there are also healthier options available.

“We’re offering a garden salad, caeser salad and a Booyah bites salad,” the chef said. “Our special for the month is seared yellow fin tuna.”

Erin Stackhouse, of Plains, was visiting Booyah for the first time and eating with Chrissy Wagner, of West Wyoming, and her 3-year-old daughter, Caitlin. Wagner and Caitlin are returning customers.

“I like it,” Stackhouse said of the food. “It’s not too greasy, and the prices are fair.”

Wagner said Caitlin wanted to eat at Burger King, and she felt Booyah was a better option.

“I think the food is very good, and they serve good portions,” Wagner said.

Krogulski said he wants Booyah to stand out as a place where people can get a fresh meal in a short amount of time. He said food gets to tables within eight to 10 minutes, and customers who call ahead or order online can expect to pick up from the express window in 10 to 15 minutes.

“We’re all about quality and consistency,” he said. “I want you to have the same experience if not better every time you visit.”
