WILKES-BARRE — Martina McBride has extended her current tour into the first half of 2017, and a March 11 engagement at F.M. Kirby Center is among the country star’s newest dates.

Her newest album, “Reckless,” was released earlier this year and debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

McBride, along with special guest Lauren Alaina, will tour in partnership with Country Music Television’s Next Women of Country initative, which aims to spotlight female singer/songwriters among the genre’s community of musicians.

Tickets for McBride’s Wilkes-Barre date are on sale exclusively to F.M. Kirby Center members 10 a.m. Dec. 7, with sales to the general public sale starting 10 a.m. Dec. 9. Tickets range from $39.50 to $99.50, plus fees. Tickets can be purchased online at KirbyCenter.org, by phone at 570-826-1100 or in person at the venue’s 71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre box office.

Martina McBride and Lauren Alaina will partner with Country Music Television’s Next Women of Country initiative for their upcoming scheduled dates together. Next Women of Country spotlights both signed and unsigned female artists in the country music community.
