King’s College will welcome back more than 1,000 alumni and friends for the 2018 Homecoming/Reunion Weekend to be held Friday, Sept. 21, through Sunday, Sept. 23.

The weekend will include a special reunion and recognition of the Class of 1968, the members of which will celebrate their 50th anniversary and be pinned “Golden Monarchs” at a special ceremony. There will also be milestone reunion gatherings for classes ending in “3” and “8.” In addition, King’s radio station, WRKC 88.5 FM, celebrates its 50-year anniversary and the college will host a reunion for alumni and friends of the station from 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 at Karl Hall. All King’s alumni and friends are invited to participate in the weekend’s activities.

Throughout the weekend, King’s professors will deliver lectures for alumni and friends titled, “Classes Without Quizzes!”

King’s Homecoming weekend features an Alumni Golf Tournament at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at Mountain Laurel Golf Club, White Haven. Alumni can enjoy a relaxed evening on campus catching up with friends and favorite professors with music, hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer from during “Pints with Professors” 7 to 9 p.m. in Regina Court.

King’s family-friendly homecoming tradition continues Saturday, Sept. 22 with the college’s Homecoming BBQ and Football Game from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Betzler Athletic Complex in Wilkes-Barre. The King’s football team faces Stevenson University Mustangs at 1 p.m. Following the game, King’s will honor the Class of 1968 for its 50-year anniversary during the “Golden Monarchs Dinner” with College President Rev. Jack Ryan, C.S.C. from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center.

Homecoming weekend concludes Sunday, Sept. 23 with an Alumni Reunion Mass at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Christ the King and a subsequent reception. Members of the Class of 1968 will process to receive their Golden Monarch pins in honor of their 50th anniversary as graduates during the Mass.
