Singer-songwriter Corky Staats will headline this month’s Open Mic Night at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 in the Peg Fassett Performance Studio at the Dietrich Theater in Tunhannock. Attendees can enjoy the many performances and talents of those who come to sign up for open mic, and then sit back and experience the headlining entertainer featured this month.

Performers of all types are invited to share their talents on the Dietrich stage every fourth Friday.

Staats is a singer-songwriter from Montrose who has been performing and writing for over 30 years. His original tunes talk of family, life experiences and his ongoing love of the outdoors, hiking and camping. His material reflects the sounds of Neil Young, John Prine and James Taylor. Staats is a founding member of Endless Mountains Trio, but continues to perform solo all over the area.

Sign-ups begin at 6:30 p.m. the night of Open Mic. Next month’s Open Mic Night will be held Friday, Sept. 28 with Dietrich Open Mic creator, Laurel Radzieski, who will read from her debut poetry collection, “Red Mother.”

For information, call the Dietrich at 570-996-1500.
