Angelina Umbriac, a recent graduate of Hazleton Area, was awarded a special scholarship from the North East Pennsylvania Theatrical Alliance.
NEPTA’s “William A. Zdancewicz Scholarship for the Performing Arts” is offered to all graduating high school seniors planning to attend an accredited two- or four-year college and major in the performing arts or the education of the performing arts. A scholarship for $500 or more is awarded to the top student(s) selected by the committee. A
pplicants are requested to fill out an entry form, attach an essay, and hand it in to their high school guidance office. At a later date, they perform in front of the NEPTA Representatives, who then make a final selection for the recipient of the award. Angelina was a very fitting candidate. She is now studying musical theater at Long Island University.
