Over 100 brightly colored glass fish bowls and hundreds of goldfish swimming in the nearby tank attracted fairgoers and vendors at the 56th Annual Luzerne County Fair. For over 25 years, Kiwanis Club of Dallas has sponsored this unique game of chance, the Goldfish Pitch.

Fairgoers of all ages tried their skills to win goldfish by pitching ping pong balls into the bowls. Onlookers shouted words of encouragement and shared their ball-tossing tips. As the balls scattered in various directions, some balls were lucky enough to reach the bowl and allow the player to win the coveted goldfish.

The proceeds will be used to fund many community projects and scholarships for Back Mountain youth. Kiwanis Club of Dallas members make a positive impact in our local communities in the Back Mountain area throughout the year by their volunteer efforts of service, education, and fundraising. Some activities include a golf tournament, reading to children, high school scholarships, road and fairground cleanup, and Halloween parade.
