Allstate agency owners and employees from Luzerne County recently came together to earn a $15,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® Grant to benefit Northeast Sight Services, a nonprofit organization that helps blind and visually impaired individuals throughout Northeast Pennsylvania achieve the best quality of life possible.

Allstate agency owners earned the $15,000 grant for Northeast Sight Services by hosting a back-to-school supply drive in their agencies from July 23 through Aug. 16. Agency owners also teamed up with the nonprofit to host a vision screening event as part of their centennial year celebration, where the first 50 youth who had their vision screened received a free backpack filled with school supplies. The organization will use the $15,000 grant to provide 2,500 additional vision screenings to local youth.
