DALLAS — North Branch Land Trust’s seventh annual Taste the Local Harvest takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7 at the Huntsville Golf Club.
This is an awareness-building event for our local farms’ harvest, local breweries and wineries, and local land conservation. While we celebrate the 2018 harvest we are cognizant of the loss of crops due to this summer’s abundance of rain and flooding.
This year, the Taste the Local Harvest event will celebrate the farmers themselves and recognize the hardships they face due to the loss of revenue from flooded crops and destruction of their fields.
Tasting tables will host local beers, wines, produce, beef, chicken, turkey, cheese, honey and lots more! Dishes will be prepared by Chef Ryan at Huntsville Golf Club from these local farm products. Tap your feet and sing along to fan favorites, LEX & DEX, or watch your favorite football game on the live broadcast NFL Sunday Ticket all the while sampling food and drink.
While enjoying the beautiful grounds of Huntsville Golf Club, guests can compete in a round of Corn Hole, line up at the beer and wine tasting tables, get your hot-off-the-grill chicken, hamburger, kielbasa, or sausage, pick up a bag of fresh popped popcorn, and fill your plate with delectable fresh produce dishes and mouthwatering roast turkey. Or just chill on the wonderful patio with a nice glass of wine. A stop at the ice cream truck is a must. Several models of electric cars will be on display.
Tickets are $60 per person, $15 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children under 5 years of age.
