Maternal & Family Health Services, Inc. (MFHS) announces its 47th annual meeting of the Board of Directors and Community Awards Luncheon will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 17 at The Westmoreland Club, Wilkes-Barre. The agency will present several awards, including the Rose Allan Tucker Award to Kristen Topolski.

Topolski established Ruth’s Place, a local women’s shelter, with the hope to provide basic necessities like food and shelter. The shelter goes far beyond those basic necessities, however, providing women with access to healthcare and resources to help them obtain employment and permanent housing. She continues this vital work today as the director of Wilkes-Bare Programming at Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania.

Several other awards will be presented during the MFHS 47th Annual Community Awards Luncheon:

· Karen Murphy, PhD: The MFHS Champion Award

· Maureen Gray: The Youth Partner Award

· Sabrina N. Jara: The Kathy A. Dickerson Memorial Scholarship

The public may download the annual meeting invitation via the MFHS website. The luncheon reception is $25. RSVP is requested by Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018. Program advertising opportunities are also available.
