GFWC-West Side members volunteered a total of 274 hours in 2017 and in January-August 2018, the club totaled 155 hours of volunteer service to the library. Friends of the Osterhout Library raise funds that go directly to support the library’s mission. Over the course of their history, the Friends have raised in excess of $500,000, mainly from the proceeds of their annual tent sale. In 2015 the Friends opened a book shop within the main library, selling gently-used books all year long.
