Husson University

Kelsey Flores, of Wilkes-Barre, has been named to Husson University’s Honors List for the fall 2018 semester. Flores is a first-year student currently enrolled in Husson’s Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry program.

Lebanon Valley College

Rebecca Ford, of Shavertown, was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s (MAC) Fall Academic Honor Roll. A graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, Ford is a member of the Lebanon Valley College women’s cross country team and is pursuing a bachelor of science in communication sciences and disorders at The Valley.

Bucknell University

Three local residents have been named to the dean’s list at Bucknell University for the fall 2018 semester. They are Jamie Carty, of Harveys Lake; Mesa Ashton, of Wilkes-Barre; and Emily Gabriel, of Kignston.

Northampton Community College

Four local students have been named to the dean’s list at Northampton Community College for the fall 2018 semester. They are Amanda Smith, of Drums; Emily Gonzalez, of Kingston; Haley Lyle, of Mountain Top; and Hyangwol Jo, of Wilkes Barre.

SUNY Canton

Iliriana Berisha, of Wilkes Barre, has been named to the dean’s list at SUNY Canton for the fall 2018 semester. Berisha is Sports Management major.

Grove City College

Joy Nave, of Dallas, a junior Spanish and K-12 Educ Certification major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean’s List with Distinction for the fall 2018 semester. Nave is a 2016 graduate of Dallas Senior High School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nave.

Mansfield University

Five local students have been named to the dean’s list at Mansfield University for the spring 2018 semester. They are Madison Klopp, of Shavertown; Aaron Lisses, of Shavertown; Kaitlyn Pavuk, of Freeland; Mark Popson, of Swoyersville; Griffin Stone, of Dallas.

Geisinger Commonwealth

Youngeun Choi, of Pittston, has been named one of the first “Abigail Geisinger Scholars.”

Through the innovative program, these 10 doctors-in-training have committed to staying in the region Geisinger serves to practice medicine with the unique blend of personal caring and scientific sophistication that has become synonymous with Geisinger.

Abigail Geisinger Scholars pay no tuition, in exchange for an obligation to work at Geisinger once they finish residency.

University of Rhode Island

Four local students have been named to the dean’s list at the University of Rhode Island for the fall 2018 semester. They are Chaslyn Facciponti, of Wyoming; Julia Fey, of Mountain Top; Leah Gorr, of Shavertown; and Julianna Martinez, of Freeland.

University of Wisconsin

Drew Poslock, of Shavertown, has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the 2018 fall semester.

Hamilton College

The following local residents were named to the dean’s list at Hamilton College for the 2018 fall semester: Michael Kim, of Dallas, a sophomore, is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary Upper School; Andrew Kim, of Dallas, a sophomore, is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary Upper School; Andrea Shipton, of Mountain Top, a first-year student, is a graduate of Crestwood High School; Avani Pugazhendhi, of Mountain Top, a first-year student, is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary Upper School.

National Field Hockey team

Kyra Wozniak, of Wilkes Barre, was one of two Kutztown University field hockey players to be named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America Team.

University of Scranton

Abbey Murphy, of Mountain Top, was among three University of Scranton students and their high school teachers recognized with Rose Kelly Awards at a ceremony held recently on campus.

The Rose Kelly Award was established by University of Scranton alumnus Joseph Wineburgh, Ph.D., to link the efforts of educators to the achievements of college students. The award is presented jointly to a student in each of the University’s colleges who has completed two years at Scranton and to the teacher whom he or she recognizes as having a great impact in his or her life. Students are selected based on exemplary achievement in both academics and general campus involvement.

Lehigh University

Local students attained dean’s list honors at Lehigh University for the fall 2018 semester.
