Red and pink is no longer reserved for Valentine’s Day only.

If you recall, I had mentioned that the once “fashion faux pas” is actually in fact now a trend. So just because the Valentine’s Day holiday will be over by the end of the week you won’t need to retire this pair immediately following.

Here’s 7 ways to wear it that will even make Cupid jealous.

• Wear it to work: Whether you decide to wear a pink pencil skirt and red shirt or go in a full red power suit wearing this trend to work is a big yes. Nothing like rocking a power color to boost your confidence as well!

• Utilize your accessories: This is a great way to start wearing the trend if you feel intimidated or don’t quite know how to pull it off. Wearing a pale pink dress and pairing it with red heels, booties or a handbag can do the trick very easily.

• Athleisure: Whether you are wearing it to work out in or to hit the town casually this is a perfect way to rock these colors. Right now a retro vibe has been a major trend so throw on your statement sneakers, oversized logo sweatshirt, leggings and stay casual cool!

• Break up your look: A lot of the fashion week looks that we have fallen in love with have an “effortless” look because they know how to mix it up. Think of ways you can add a neutral element to your outfit to make it feel more sophisticated. Pairing a small thin belt or adding a metallic or white clutch brings it to another level.

• Play with color: When people think of red and pink mostly the bold versions come to mind, but there are a lot of variations and hues of the colors. Dusty pink and magenta are a combination of these pretty colors that look fabulous together and have a softer feel to them.

• Use a print: Prints always act as the perfect addition because not a lot of thought needs to go into what you pair with them. Add a floral jacket or plaid coat to your ensemble as a way to keep it easy peasy.

• Incorporate the menswear trend: I know quite a few people who don’t like the color pink or red too much. In fact they feel like it’s just a little too pepto bismol and loud, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact with the menswear and modest pieces being so big in fashion right now mixing these more masculine pieces in these shades keeps it refreshing.

So just because it’s just the month of love now doesn’t mean you have to stop being smitten with the trend combination.
