Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s January employee luncheon was hosted by Student Affairs and Athletics, who chose Special Olympics as the event’s charity recipient. The Special Olympics Pennsylvania Summer Games are held each year at Penn State University in State College, bringing together over 2,000 athletes from across the state. Special Olympics is Pennsylvania’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. The 2019 Summer Games will take place at University Park from June 6- 8. All faculty, staff, and students were invited to make donations to the Special Olympics in addition to other selected local charities.
