Sharra Walton, of Mocanaqua, a student at Luzerne County Community College, has been named to the 2019 All-PA Academic Team.

Walton is a Commercial Art major with a concentration in Painting Illustration who carries a 3.9 grade point average. At LCCC, she is president of the college’s Student Government Association and serves as Student Government Representative to the Psi Beta/Psychology Club.

She also is a member of the college’s honor society chapters of Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Sigma Lambda, Psi Beta, and Sigma Kappa Delta.

Walton was named to the President’s List for the fall 2017 semester and the Dean’s List for the spring 2018 and fall 2018 semesters. She is the recipient of the LCCC Alumni Association Scholarship and the James T. Atherton Memorial Scholarship.

In the community, she volunteers at the St. Vincent dePaul Kitchen. She also is the author of a self-published book.

Upon graduation from LCCC, Walton will attend Marywood University in the fall to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting and her master’s degree in Art Therapy. She hopes to one day work with veterans and their families through art therapy.
