Tess Edwards, daughter of Mark and Wyanita Edwards, Cambra, has been named Northwest Area’s Student of the Month for August.

Edwards has been involved in every aspect of the school and community. Academically, she has been an active member of the National Honor Society since 10th grade, participating and taking the lead in various service projects such as the weekend supplemental food program, Wands for Wildlife, the 100,000 Thank Yous Campaign, and more.

She is a triple sport Ranger athlete. She has been a varsity member of track and field, cross Country, and Basketball since 9th grade, and a three-time District Medal winner as a part of the 4X800 relay.

Her leadership activities include being elected as a class officer during ninth and 12th grade and marching band president during 11th and 12th grade. Additionally, she was a member of the Junior Leadership Class of 2019 where she worked with the Pals for Patriots Cove project. She was also chosen to represent her school for Youth Salute this year.

Upon graduation, Edwards plans to pursue a career in Environmental Engineering and to continue her involvement with basketball at the college level.
