It’s finally here.

We’ve gone green and are hopefully staying healthy.

We’ve been waiting, waiting and waiting for this time when we could get back into the gym and play around with weights.

We’ve been waiting for that time when we could walk through the mall or other favorite retailers that have been closed.

We’ve been waiting for a – drumroll, please – haircut.

I don’t know about you, but I can manage without doing some of the above, but without a haircut I’ve been struggling.

Every day I spent ample time trying to control my bushy head of hair using the toughest glue I could find as it covered my ears and slithered down the back of my neck.

To say I finally got a haircut makes me happy from ear to ear, literally.

I’m sure these things are the same for many reading today.

After all, we can’t make our rounds “around town” if our hair is all out of sorts, can we?

I’m certainly not suggesting everyone runs out and about in a frenzy now that Luzerne County is in the green phase.

We know we have to use caution, wear masks and social distance.

The good news is, though, that while doing all of this, we can at least get a haircut or other service that will make us feel better.

And let’s face it; right now, we all want to feel a little better.

So many have been cooped up working from home and quarantining that they’ve missed things as basic as human interaction.

To be able to get back into the real world a bit – whether shopping in a store, visiting your hairstylist or spending some time in your gym – is so needed.

I’m getting excited every day when I see different businesses announcing their openings in the newspaper and on Facebook.

We’re seeing some open again for the first time in three months. It’s crazy to think this has lingered so long.

As we finally get back “around town” to some extent, we have to remember that businesses and people have been through a lot.

I’m hoping everyone is respectful and kind, wherever they go.

And, why shouldn’t they be?

They can finally get a haircut.
