Coat Drive, held by Eye Care Specialists, Kingston, through Dec. 15 for kids and families associated with Luzerne County Head Start. Collection boxes are placed at the Toyota SportsPlex on Coal Street in Wilkes-Barre. There will also be a collection box at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins home game on Dec. 8. New and gently used coats for adults and children are being collected at Eye Care Specialist locations in Berwick, Dallas, Hazleton, Nanticoke, Scranton and West Pittston.

Gingerbread house decorating, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Laflin Public Library, 47 Laflin Road, Laflin, children of all ages are welcome to help decorate. You only need to bring your creativity. All supplies will be provided. Info, 570-654-3323.

Victorian Tea, for children ages 4 and older and their caregivers, with a Christmas ornament craft, tea, desserts and music, 1 p.m. Dec. 9, Mill Memorial Library, 495 East Main St., Nanticoke. Seating is limited so please RSVP at 570-735-3030.

Moana, a free holiday showing of the popular animated Disney movie, 2 p.m. Dec. 9 at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, Public Square, Wilkes-Barre. Sponsored by the law firm of Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn. Every child will receive a free drink and popcorn plus a free gift. The movie is open to all families with children younger than 12. Irem Temple Restoration Project, information session will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at Rodano’s, 53 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre. $15 includes food and refreshments. Project members will share the results of the analysis performed by John Milner Architects, the current plans to convert the historic downtown structure into an event hall and museum, and how the public can help.

“Circuits, Sinterklaas, Dreidels, and More!” a new event to mark the holiday season, for children ages 5 to 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 18 in The Children’s Room at the Back Mountain Memorial Library. The evening will wrap up with light refreshments. Admission free.

Santa Parade, in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, with Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves traveling the streets to hand out candy bags. Line up begins at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 16 at Schiel’s Market on George Avenue, parade begins at 10 a.m. and ends at Nowak’s Iron Works on Scott Street. Sponsored by Parsons Lions Club. Info, 484-336-7212.
