Messiah Sing-A-Long with the Arcadia Chorale, 3 p.m. Dec. 17, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 232 Wyoming Ave., Scranton. Members of the Chorale will sing the solos, and the audience and the full Chorale will sing the choruses, including For Unto Us a Child is Born, Worthy is the Lamb, and everyone’s favorite: the Hallelujah Chorus. People who just want to listen are welcome as well. “All Hearts Come Home for Christmas,” presented by the Wyoming Valley Concert Band, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, South Franklin Street in Wilkes Barre (across the street from Boscov’s). This concert is a gift to the people of the Wyoming Valley. The Band is directed by Don Williams and will be accompanied by Mark Laubach on the St. Stephen’s pipe organ. Admission is free and open to the public. A light social will follow the concert in St. Stephen’s Community Room.
Acoustic Bluegrass Jam at The Cooperage, 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 20 at The Cooperage, 1030 Main St., Honesdale, with Buckshot Jenkins and Ron Penska leading an acoustic bluegrass jam. The jam is open to any musician with an acoustic instrument such as a fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, harmonica, tambourine, even an egg shaker.
