Brady’s Lake Hike at State Game Lands 127, part of hiking series. Join a naturalist at 9 a.m. June 15 at Brady’s Lake, off Route 940. Approximate address is 106 Brady’s Lake Road, Pocono Pines, PA 18350. Drive about 3 miles on dirt road to reach Brady’s Lake, where we will hike 4 miles and listen for birds. Birding at Frances Slocum, a leisurely walk through the park to seek out beautiful birds with Bruce Troy of Wild Birds Unlimited. 8:30 a.m. June 16. Frances Slocum State Park, Kingston Township. Meet in the parking lot at the Environmental Education Center and boat rental. Bring your own binoculars. Info: 570-675-9900

Delta Waterfowl Retriever Dog Demonstration, 10 a.m. to noon June 16, behind the Patrick Solano Education Building, Frances Slocum State Park, Kingston Township. In the event of inclement weather, call 570—696-9105 to confirm program is being held.

Life in the Pond, for ages 5 and older. Dip nets will be used to see what creatures are living in the water at the edge of the pond. 2 p.m. June 16. Wet and muddy conditions; wear boots or shoes that can get wet. Meet at gravel parking lot at bottom of Campground Road at Frances Slocum State Park in Kingston Township. Lackawanna State Park, moderate 9-mile hike with the Susquehanna Trailers Hiking Club. Meet at 9:45 am. June 17 at Park & Ride on Route 315 in Dupont and leave at 10 a.m. Bring lunch and water. Leader Al Chapacharis 570-806-1754.

Kayaking Level One, an hour-long session for people ages 9 and older who have never kayaked before, 3 p.m. June 20, Nescopeck State Park, Honey Hole Road, Drums, $5 per person, payable on the day of the program with exact change required. Call 570-403-2006 to register.

Kayaking: Lake Paddle, 5:30 p.m. June 20 at Nescopeck State Park, Honey Hole Road, Drums. This is not instructional, so you should have attended introductory course or have kayak experience to sign up. Register in advance by calling 570-403-2006. Cost is $5 per person, payable the day of the program, with exact change required.

First Day of Summer Hike, through the Grand View Trial to see the mountain laurel in bloom. Bring a camera. Hike is a moderate, 2-mile trek. 9 to 11 a.m. June 21. Lehigh Gap Trails, difficult 8-mile hike with the Susquehanna Trailers Hiking Club. Meet at 9:45 a.m. June 24 at the Sears Auto Center, Wyoming Valley Mall and leave at 10 a.m. Bring lunch and water. Leader Tom Barnard 570-262-7957.

Archery for Kids, beginners are invited to join the park naturalist for an introductory program. Meet behind the Patrick Solano Education Building at Frances Slocum in Kingston Township. 10 a.m. June 30. For ages 9 to 14. Salamander Search, for ages 6 and older, starts in the Campground Amphitheater with a short introduction to salamanders. Then the group will embark on an amphibian adventure and try to catch live examples. 2 p.m. June 30, Frances Slocum State Park in Kingston Township.
