Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm opens its 55th summer tour season starting June 16 with the 11th annual Summer Garden Party. Visitors will meet guides who portray family members going about a typical day on an 1800s homestead and folks will have a chance to involve themselves with garden activities. General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for ages 3 to 12, and includes both the tour and the garden party. The farm is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Wine and Dine Festival, sponsored by Dallas Rotary Club, 1 to 6 p.m. June 23 at the Luzerne County Fairgrounds, Route 118, Dallas, with 16 wineries plus food vendors, crafters and musical entertainment. Tickets $15 in advance and $25 at the gate. Designated driver tickets are $5. VIP tickets are $40 with entrance time of noon. Tour will include stops at the Wyoming Seminary bell tower, the Wyoming Valley Montessori School, the Church of Christ Uniting, the Dorranceton United Methodist church and the Westmoor Church of Christ. Poems at the Pub, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. June 26 in the upper room of Dugan’s Irish Pub, 385 Main St., Luzerne. The event will celebrate the release of two poetry books by David J. Bauman and will feature readings by Joel Long, of Columbus, Ohio; Erin L. Delaney, of Nanticoke; and Micah J. Bauman, of Lock Haven.
