PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia police official says investigators do not anticipate filing charges in the accidental shooting death of a toddler.

Police said 2-year-old Ibn-Kareem Lawson died after shooting himself in the head Thursday afternoon in the Olney neighborhood of north Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the gun had been reported stolen in the Cheltenham neighborhood in 2015. Police were still investigating to see whether forensics could shed light on who in the house may have possessed it.

But Homicide Capt. John Ryan said the death was being considered accidental and “no charges (are) expected to be filed at this time.”
