SCRANTON — The Lackawanna County Commissioners recognized the “Good Works” of the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter.

The organization covers 59 of the 67 counties in the Commonwealth, providing assistance online, over the phone, or in person.

Last year, 2,000 Lackawanna County residents received support from the association. There are over 18,000 people in Greater Scranton//Wilkes Barre with a dementia diagnosis.

The organization conducts an annual walk to raise funds to underwrite its various programs, services and direct care activities.
