After a cold, blustery February, we welcome March with hopes of warmth and sunshine. Although it was so cold, it was the perfect month for our Winter Reading Programs.
Our adult program, Cabin Fever, had many patrons enrolled. Many spent their February days curled up with a good book. Thank you to all who participated and made Cabin Fever a successful program. As for our Children’s Winter Reading Program, there were also many who participated and received a certificate for their time reading or listening to library books. Congratulations to all the children who made reading Dalton library books a part of their day. Also, a big thank you to the parents who encouraged their children and took the time to help with our program.
Our library is excited to offer a new teen reading program called “TRL,” which stands for Teen Reading Lounge. It is described as “a book club on steroids.” For those enrolled, the meeting will take place over the span of six weeks. Each meeting will be held at the Dalton Community Library and is facilitated by Lackawanna Trail High School’s school librarian Kelly Hopkins.
We are very happy to offer this wonder program and have students enrolled.
Our regular program schedule is being followed daily and has had great attendance. See our website, lclshome.org/b/dalton-community-library/ for days and times of programs.
One group many have inquired about is our monthly knitting group which is held at 1 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Have you ever thought about learning to knit? Beginners are welcome. Or, are you working on a project and need some knitting guidance? Or, maybe you already enjoy knitting and would like to be in the company of others who are knitting, also. Everyone is welcome.
If you have any questions about this group or other Dalton Community Library groups, call 570-563-2014.
We’d like to remind everyone that next month is our Spring Book and Bake Sale scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 18. Our sale has so many things to choose from. Books of all genres, magazines and videos, all with low prices. Some books are practically brand new. And, don’t forget the homemade baked goods made by our generous patrons. Many people make donations and a lot of time is spent to make this book and bake sale a success. Please keep the date in mind and come support the Dalton Community Library.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Dalton Community Library where there’s always a warm smile and kind service. Have a great March!
