WILKES-BARRE — City police Friday released a surveillance picture of a man they say robbed the Turkey Hill store on Carey Avenue.

Police said the unknown man, they described as a black male, wearing a red jacket and black pants, entered the store with a firearm just before 7 a.m. Thursday. The man walked behind the counter and demanded money and was unsuccessful at opening the store’s safe, police said.

Police said the man got away with an undetermined amount of cash from the register.
