HANOVER TWP. — Hanover Area School Board resumed in-person classes Monday.

The district announced the move to remote-only learning last week for three days, April 7, 8 and 9, due to a COVID-19 outbreak. Luzerne County has been experiencing an increase in new cases, and state data last week showed the Hanover High School ZIP code of 18706 had seen a sharp surge, with 50 new cases in three days, compared to 22 to 27 new cases per week through most of March.

The district strongly encouraged students to complete an entrance ticket every day, calling it “a much-needed step to help protect our children from becoming infected with the COVID-19 virus.”
