SCRANTON — A federal jury convicted Tysheen Gott of Wilkes-Barre of drug trafficking, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Friday.

Gott, 45, also known as “LB” was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, crack, and tramadol following a seven-day trial before U.S. District Judge Malachy Mannion.

Acting U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania Bruce D. Brandler said Gott was convicted of conspiring to distribute more than one kilogram of heroin and more than 400 grams of fentanyl during the conspiracy. The jury also found Gott guilty on eight additional counts of unlawfully distributing fentanyl and/or crack between April 10, 2019 through March 5, 2020.

The conspiracy began in 2013 and continued until Gott’s arrest in June 2020. Gott was one of 11 people indicted in May 2020 and the only one who went to trial. The others pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.

Federal prosecutors presented five of the co-conspirators and 10 of Gott’s former drug customers as witnesses. Federal law enforcement agents from the FBI and officers from the Wilkes-Barre and Scranton police departments also testified.

This case was the result of a year-long investigation, in part driven by multiple federal wiretaps conducted by the FBI, the Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Pittston and Plymouth police departments, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office and the Office of Pennsylvania Attorney General. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michelle Olshefski and Robert O’Hara prosecuted the case.
