JENKINS TWP. — A Main Street resident is in police custody after warrants served on his home address and a self-storage station yielded weapons and drugs last Friday.

Robert Calabrese Jr., 45, faces felony possession with intent to deliver, as well as three felony firearms charges and a misdemeanor drug paraphrenalia charge.

According to the criminal complaint:

Members of the Luzerne County Drug Task Force served the aforementioned warrants on Calabrese’s residence and a self-storage facility on S. Township Boulevard.

Upon completing the searches, investigators found ‘distribution amounts of heroin and/or fentanyl’, as well as packaging materials, two handguns in a safe in the self-storage unit and an AR-15 rifle.

Calabrese was taken into custody inside his residence and taken to the Pittston City Police Headquarters to be processed.

In the course of questioning, Calabrese admitted to investigators he had started trafficking heroin to support his family and admitted he purchased over $6,000 worth of the drug from an unnamed male in Wilkes-Barre.

Calabrese was deemed a flight risk and denied bail. He remains housed at Luzerne County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for May 24.
