WILKES-BARRE — The United Way of Wyoming Valley Monday announced nominations are now being accepted for the “Rose Brader Community Service Award.”
This award recognizes an adult volunteer over the age of 18, who has performed volunteer work within the Wyoming Valley to benefit an individual, group or special cause within the past year.
The award is named in honor of the late Rosalie Brader, a 31-year employee of the United Way, who devoted extensive volunteer time and talent towards numerous local health and human service organizations throughout the Wyoming Valley.
“The Rose Brader Award is really special to the United Way of Wyoming Valley, Jones said. “Rose was employed by the organization for 31 years. While the organization changed quite a bit from 1948 to 1979, Rose consistently advocated for people, families, and the community. She was truly a servant-leader and respected by all.”
The award has been presented to more than 40 individuals in our community, recognizing their extraordinary commitment to helping others.
