Afterwards, everyone was invited up to the office for refreshments. Jackson opened up the cupcakes as everyone sang him happy birthday.
WILKES-BARRE – Impressive Global Marketing held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday afternoon to celebrate the grand opening of its new office space in downtown Wilkes-Barre.
The new office space will be located on the second floor of the Innovation Center on South Main St., Suite 209.
Trevon Jackson, owner of Impressive Global Marketing, was joined by friends and family, as well as members of the Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce. According to Shanie Mohamed, of the Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce, Mayor George Brown also planned on attending the ceremony, but got sick and was unable to make it.
Jackson, born and raised in Brooklyn, started Impressive Global Marketing about a year ago and initially ran the company out of his Wilkes-Barre home.
As an independent marketing executive, Jackson said he started the company because he wanted to “help small businesses achieve their goals.” The company offers a variety of services to organizations and brands, including SEO strategy, content generation and social media marketing.
The grand opening was not the only thing Jackson celebrated on Monday. It was also his 31 birthday.
As far as birthday presents go, this one was definitely special. “It’s good because you know what, honestly, it’s a big accomplishment,” said Jackson.
Impressive Global Marketing received a $4,200 grant through the Spark Wilkes-Barre Grant Program. Because Jackson doesn’t have any financial backing, he said that the money will help cover start-up costs, rent and equipment. It will also help the business “gain more capital” and provide a wider variety of services to the community.
Jackson also spoke of wanting to make connections with local businesses. “Networking is very important,” he said.
As of right now, Jackson runs the company by himself with the help of an office administrator who works remotely.
Jackson’s mother, Michelle Player, was also in attendance.
“I’m so proud of him,” she said. “He deserves this day.”
After the ceremony, attendees were invited up to the office for refreshments.
