WILKES-BARRE — Yard Waste curbside collection for Wilkes-Barre City residents begins on Monday, April 3.

Residents should place yard waste curbside, on their weekly collection day. Yard Waste will only be accepted in yard waste bins and paper yard waste bags.

There is a limit of five bags/bins per household.

Yard waste includes leaf waste, garden residue, grass clippings, wood waste, garden waste, and sod.

Tree clippings, branches and trunks, dirt, mulch, and bundled yard waste products will not be collected.

Good Friday collection schedule

The city DPW will be closed on Friday, April 7, for Good Friday. City Hall will be open.

Friday April 7 garbage and paper and cardboard recycling curbside collection for East End, Parsons, and Miners Mills neighborhoods is rescheduled for Monday, April 10. Yard waste will not be collected on Friday, April 7.

Double yard waste collection is scheduled for Friday, April 14.

All other collections remain unchanged.
