KINGSTON — Police in Kingston arrested Tyler Jason Vasquez, 31, on allegations he threatened to shoot his father who is stricken to a medical bed due to an illness, according to court records.

Police in court records say the threat was recorded by a Ring doorbell camera at the family residence on New Hurbane Street.

Police reported the father’s daughter installed the doorbell camera to monitor her father who is in home hospice due to an illness.

Video footage showed Vasquez brandishing a firearm and threatening to shoot his father on Saturday, court records say.

Vasquez was arraigned by District Judge Thomas Malloy of Wilkes-Barre on charges of threatening a care-dependent person, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person. Vasquez was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility without bail as Malloy deemed him a threat to himself and a flight risk.
