DALLAS — Misericordia University unveiled its $8.5 million dollar state-of-the-art occupational and physical therapy facility Sunday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the former Mercy Center building on campus, where faculty, students, and trustee members gathered to celebrate the newly renovated space.

According to University President Dr. Dan Myers, the facility, which officially opened in January, houses a plethora of facilities and resources, such as observation rooms and labs, state of the art lecture rooms with interactive capabilities, a home health lab and more.

“Our students will have access to cutting edge equipment, modern teaching technology in the classrooms and specialized labs that will enable them to engage in hands-on learning community service, research opportunities, and doctoral capstone projects,” said Department Chair and Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy Dr. Lori Charney.

Charney added that the facility also includes dedicated spaces for therapeutic interventions, simulated clinical environments, and rehabilitation opportunities.

“Today we gather to celebrate not just the physical structure, but also the future. The new building stands as a symbol of progress, innovation, and growth,” said Charney.
