Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Luzerne County Democratic Party Chair Thom Shubilla confirmed Sunday. He said the time and location of the visit are yet to be determined.

The Harris-Wall campaign did noit release the site of the event, but said it is expected to start at 7 p.m.

According to Harris-Walz campaign officials, the Democratic presidential nominee will make the campaign stop as part of her New Way Forward tour.

In the days following the first presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris, Governor Tim Walz, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz, and other top surrogates will barnstorm battleground states. The swing comes as part of a New Way Forward tour that will include campaign events in every media market in every battleground state in just four days.

The campaign also launched a new ad in Pennsylvania on Sunday called “New Way Forward,” which officials said highlights Harris’ vision for strengthening the middle class — including a federal ban on price gouging on food, capping the cost of prescription drugs and ending the country’s affordable housing shortage. This ad is airing as part of the campaign’s historic $370 million investment in TV and digital reservations between Labor Day and Election Day.

From Thursday, Sept. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 15, the New Way Forward Tour will continue the campaign’s efforts to mobilize support, drive enthusiasm and reach the voters who will decide this election.

In Wilkes-Barre, the Vice President plans to underscore the contrast between the Harris-Walz vision for a brighter, more hopeful future versus Donald Trump and JD Vance’s Project 2025, which she believes will give Trump unprecedented, unchecked power to enact his extreme and dangerous agenda.

“This election is about two very different visions for our country. Donald Trump and JD Vance want to take us backward with their dangerous and extreme Project 2025 agenda. Vice President Harris and Governor Walz are fighting for a New Way Forward that protects our fundamental freedoms, strengthens our democracy, and ensures every person has the opportunity to not just get by, but to get ahead,” said Harris-Walz campaign Communications Director Michael Tyler in a statement. “With early voting about to begin and less than 60 days until Election Day, our campaign will take the vice president’s message directly to the voters wherever they are — on the airwaves, on the doors and online. With so much at stake in this election, we are blitzing the battlegrounds and leaving it all out on the field.”
