WILKES-BARRE — PennDOT announced on Friday that there will be lane restrictions on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound, the week of Sept. 23, as follows:

• Interstate 81 northbound and southbound from Exit 206 (Glenwood/Lenoxville) and Exit 223 (New Milford/Lakeside) in Susquehanna County from Monday, Sept. 23, through Thursday, Sept. 26, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. for guide rail repairs.

• Interstate 81 southbound from Exit 155 (Dorrance) to Exit 151 (Stroudsburg) in Luzerne County on Wednesday, Sept. 25, between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for pipe flushing.

• Interstate 81 southbound from Exit 151 (Stroudsburg) to Exit 145 (Hazleton) in Luzerne County on Thursday, Sept. 26, between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for pipe flushing.

• Interstate 81 northbound between Exits 143 (Hazleton) and Exit 145 (West Hazleton) in Luzerne County on Friday, Sept. 27, between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to perform roadway sensor maintenance.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
