WEST PITTSTON — Blue Ribbon Farm Dairy has picked up Best Ice Cream for 2024, and co-owner Kiki Sorick said she is always humbled to be recognized as the best in Greater Pittston.
“It never gets old,” Sorick said. “We appreciate our customers for voting for us every year and the recognition means a lot to us.”
Sorick said all of the previous years’ Best of Greater Pittston awards hang proudly in the dining room at Blue Ribbon.
Established in 1945, the ice cream parlor got a facelift this past April at their Exeter Ave. location.
Kiki Sorick is a descendant of Ernest Lombardo, the creator of Blue Ribbon, and it’s been in the family ever since.
Blue Ribbon Farm Dairy is a wholesale dairy distributor and ice cream parlor founded shortly after World War II and is still family-owned.
Blue Ribbon supplies fresh dairy and homemade ice cream products to Northeast Pennsylvania every day. They serve over 60 flavors of award-winning, premium ice cream as well as soft serve ice cream and yogurt, hard yogurt, no-sugar-added ice cream, and ice cream cakes.
“Right now, we are entering pumpkin season,” Ann Sorick, co-owner, said. “We carry so many products with pumpkin flavoring. Everyone loves pumpkin this time of the year.”
The dairy offers delivery service to restaurants, schools, nursing homes, institutions and community groups such as church bazaars and little leagues.
Kenny Sorick said Blue Ribbon Diary products go as far as 60 miles from West Pittston.
