EXETER — Luzerne County detectives arrested an 18-year-old man Tuesday on allegations he downloaded child sexual abuse materials.
Keifer Colin Neil, of Schooley Avenue, admitted to viewing, possessing and disseminating child sexual abuse materials for two years when confronted by detectives, who are members of the Luzerne County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Pennsylvania State Police Northeast Computer Crime Unit, according to court records.
Neil, who claimed to be a camp counselor, court records say, told detectives “he tried to stop but could not.”
Detectives went to Neil’s residence with a search warrant while investigating several Cyber tips involving videos of suspected child sexual abuse materials that were downloaded/uploaded using an email and cellular phone number registered to Neil.
During an interview with detectives, court records say, Neil admitted he used several different social media platforms to obtain images and videos of child sexual abuse materials.
Neil told detectives several of his social media platforms were “shutdown,” and he needs help for his problem.
Neil was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla of Forty Fort on three counts of child pornography and a single count of criminal use of communication facility. Neil was jailed at the county correctional facility for lack of $50,000 bail.
