KINGSTON — The body of a white male in his mid-30s was discovered in the vicinity of the Kingston Recreation Center on Saturday, Jan. 4, Police Chief Richard Kotchik confirmed on Thursday.

The deceased, whose name has not been revealed, was previously reported missing in late November.

According to Kotchik, the body was discovered by a group of children in a wooded area near the recreation center. Police were called to the location around 3 p.m., and arrived within minutes. No foul play is suspected in the cause of death.

The Luzerne County Coroner’s Office confirmed that an autopsy being performed on a body matching the case description was completed on Tuesday. As of Thursday afternoon, the official cause of death has not been released.
