WILKES-BARRE — A toddler was transported to an area hospital after a parked vehicle was struck in a hit-and-run crash that allegedly involved a shooting along North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, Monday night.
The toddler was being placed inside the parked vehicle when it was struck by another vehicle fleeing a parking lot of the former Sacred Heart School at about 8 p.m., according to several law enforcement sources.
The investigation involves the driver of the fleeing vehicle speeding out of the parking lot after shots were fired and they struck the parked vehicle as the toddler was being placed inside it, sources said.
Sources said the toddler was rushed to an area hospital for a severe head injury.
