WILKES-BARRE — The city’s Cherry Blossom Festival got off to a rainy Start Friday evening and Saturday, but the weather didn’t stop people from coming to Kirby Park for the festivities. The event continues from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday with various food and retail vendors, amusement rides, games and other activities.

Ride wristbands cost $18.

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the city parks, and pets are prohibited during city-sponsored events.

Sunday schedule:

• Wyoming Valley Striders 50th Annual Cherry Blossom 5-Mile Run begins at 9 a.m. Visit www.wyomingvalleystriders.com for information.

• Chase Who? will perform from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

• The Traveling Wilkes-Barreans will perform from 4 to 7 p.m.
