RICE TWP. — Crews were called to a reported one-car crash Saturday morning along Interstate-81 (I-81) southbound in Rice Township.
The Luzerne County Coroner states that a 49-year-old woman died after a one-car rollover crash.
She was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
PA511 shows that I-81 southbound was closed between Exit 164: PA 29 – NANTICOKE and Exit 159: NUANGOLA, but reopened around 1:45 p.m.
According to the Luzerne County Communications Center, crews were called I-81 southbound around mile marker 160 around 11:30 a.m.
The Luzerne County Coroner states that he was called there for a fatal one-car crash with ejection.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
