WILKES-BARRE — A 31-year-old man reported to Wilkes-Barre police that he was assaulted by another man wielding a baseball bat in the area of 69 N. Sherman St. on Sunday.

The man told police he was on Coal Street and was involved in an argument with another man, who retrieved a baseball bat and followed him on North Sherman Street where he struck him several times in the head and legs prior to running away.

Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital.
