PLAINS TWP. — PennDOT on Tuesday announced that the detour in place for the exit ramp from Route 115 Northbound to Interstate 81 Northbound in Plains Township will be altered from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, to 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21.
The detour route change will allow crews to remove overhead signage in the project area.
The following updated detour will be in place as crews work overnight only:
• Motorists will exit from Route 309 Southbound at Exit 1 (Business 309/Route 315.)
• Motorists will proceed onto Route 315 Northbound and then onto the Interstate 81 Northbound on-ramp.
When encountering a work zone, motorists should drive the posted speed limit, turn on their headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers and avoid all distractions, officials said.
In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
