WILKES-BARRE TWP. — Walmart, along with a dozen other businesses, were temporarily closed Thusday due to a break in a water line that servicesThe Wilkes-Barre Township Market Place.
As of 2:30 p.m. Cracker Barrel, Chuck E. Cheese, Wine & Spirits, America’s Best Eyewear, Sally’s Beauty, and Pet Supplies Plus were among the stores that had to close, police said.
Wilkes-Barre Township Police initially said the closures were due to a water main break, but PA American Water Spokesperson Susan Turmanovich told the Times Leader that it was actually a private service line that was impacted and that the property owner is responsible for the repairs.
It is unclear when businesses will be able to reopen.
