The Lake-Lehman school board approved a proposal for a $2,120,486 HVAC project in Lehman-Jackson Elementary at a meeting Tuesday.
“All their rooftop HVAC equipment is original equipment from 1973, so that has to all be replaced,” said Superintendent James McGovern.
The project includes unit ventilator replacements, boiler and domestic water heater replacements, and a district-wide JACE controller replacement or upgrade.
Two state-managed COSTARS contracts will be utilized. McGovern said the project is partially grant-funded.
Director of Buildings and Grounds Brady Butler provided updates on other maintenance work.
Butler said the vestibule project in the high school is underway. Windows with security film are being installed, with new doors coming in the next week and carpet installation coming in the fall.
He said the district received a $300,000 grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development to fund paving projects, like fixing potholes in the high school parking lot.
There are also plans for summer maintenance projects, including playground improvements, waterline replacements, and sidewalk repairs.
Butler said preparation of outdoor sports facilities will begin in March.
District coaches raised concerns regarding sharing sports facilities with recreational teams.
McGovern said he plans to meet twice a week with Lake-Lehman High School Principal Matthew Nonnenberg and district coaches to ensure facilities are available for district sports and activities.
“The school program is the priority,” McGovern said, noting that external organizations can only use the facilities when available.
Other updates
The board approved the curriculum guides for Lake-Lehman High School and Junior High School for the 2026-2027 school year. McGovern said there were no notable changes.
The board also approved a clinical education experience agreement with Misericordia University to provide clinical education experience for students of the university’s College of Health Sciences and Education and/or College of Arts and Sciences.
“They get to come over here and get the hours that they need,” McGovern said. “We have a great relationship with Misericordia, and all the colleges really.”

• Kelly Adamshick, girls’ soccer
• Enrico Bartolini, boys’ soccer
• Christopher Kukosky, girls’ volleyball
• John Sobocinski, cross country
