WILKES-BARRE — An Edwardsville man who admitted to robbing an employee of Walgreens Pharmacy in the store’s Kingston parking lot was sentenced in Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas on Thursday.
Judge Michael T. Vough sentenced Andre Dion Jerome Blair, 42, address listed as Main Street, to five to 23 months at the county correctional facility on charges of robbery, simple assault, and an unrelated simple assault offense.
Kingston police responded to the pharmacy at Wyoming Avenue and Market Street when Blair attacked a woman in the parking lot on Oct. 22, 2025. A female employee assisted as Blair punched the employee several times and removed what he believed was a cellular phone, but was a store scanner, according to the criminal complaint.
Officers chased Blair, who initiated a struggle in the middle of Wyoming Avenue, where he was arrested, the complaint says.
The unrelated simple assault offense involved a struggle with a Kingston police officer that occurred on Aug. 6, 2025.
Blair was granted 131 days’ time served and was granted immediate parole. He was ordered to send a letter of apology to the Kingston police officer.
