WILKES-BARRE — The Luzerne County Transportation Authority’s shared ride passengers will have more flexibility in scheduling and managing their trips.
Thanks to the Find My Ride Schedule initiative, funded by PennDOT’s Bureau of Public Transportation, this innovative tool is being introduced statewide.
LCTA is one of the transportation providers selected by PennDOT to adopt Find My Ride Schedule, offering passengers the convenience of managing trips directly from their smartphones, tablets, or computers.
On the Find My Ride Schedule website, passengers can access many convenient features, including checking their account balance, scheduling new trips, tracking their driver’s estimated arrival time, viewing upcoming rides, and canceling trips they no longer need.
Whether trips are booked via Find My Ride Schedule or by calling LCTA Customer Service at 570-288-8420, passengers can always manage their scheduled trips online.
LCTA is rolling out this tool to provide an enhanced experience for passengers, including automated reminder calls the night before a trip, and notifications when the driver is about 10 minutes away from pickup. Additionally, text messages can be sent to alert passengers when the driver is roughly five minutes away.
“Our passengers can also be confident that, while these new tools offer added convenience, our Customer Service Representatives are always available to help over the phone,” said Executive Director Bob Fiume. “We understand that while some passengers prefer using technology, others might appreciate personal assistance. We aim to offer multiple options, but it’s entirely up to the passenger how they wish to engage with these tools.”
It is important to note that not all trips can be scheduled through Find My Ride Schedule. For trips outside Luzerne County or for early morning and evening rides, passengers should continue to contact Customer Service to schedule them.
To use Find My Ride Schedule, visit pa.gov/FMRschedule. Passengers or their caregivers can log in using their Shared Ride ID, County, and their birthdate. Passengers can obtain their Shared Ride ID by contacting Customer Service at 570-288-8420.
