WILKES-BARRE — The Friends of the Osterhout Free Library will host their 49th annual tent book sale beginning Friday, June 12, and concluding Saturday, June 20.
The sale will take place at 71 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, in the large white tent next to the Osterhout Free Library.
A preview sale will be held from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 12, and requires a $10 entry fee.
Opening day is from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13.
The remaining hours of the book sale are from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18; 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 19; and the sale concludes on Saturday, June 20, with a special “bag and box day” from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Bags and boxes for this day have been generously provided by Wegmans and Barnes & Noble, respectively. Anyone ages 16 or older must purchase at least a $1 bag to enter the sale on the final day. Daily specials will take place each day and will be shared on Facebook and Instagram @osterhoutfreelibrary.
The sale contains 60 categories, including books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, board games, and puzzles. There is something for everyone, of all ages, with prices ranging from $0.25 to $5. Proceeds raised from this week-long sale will benefit programs and services of the Osterhout Free Library.
