A teenager died in a one-vehicle crash on Coxton Road late Saturday night, according to the Luzerne County Coroner.
Seth Dragos, 19, of Pittston, was pronounced dead on the scene, coroner Dion Fernandes said.
Duryea police said the preliminary investigation indicated that speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
Fernandes also reported that weather conditions played a role.
The incident remains under investigation by the Duryea Police Department and the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.
Duryea Police were called to the crash site in the area of Falling Springs in the Narrows section of Coxton Road at approximately 11 p.m. on July 4.
Police said officers were dispatched to the area after receiving multiple calls reporting a vehicle with heavy front-end damage stopped in the middle of the roadway.
Callers advised police that an unresponsive male driver was seated inside the vehicle.
Officers, along with EMS and fire personnel, responded to the scene and confirmed the driver was deceased, Duryea police said.
The Luzerne County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene.
