UNION TWP. — A man from Berwick was arraigned on allegations he stole a firearm from a home on Trailing Pine Road in Union Township earlier this week.

The Pennsylvania State Police at Shickshinny say Zane Farmer, 37, was staying at the residence the night of July 12 and July 13, according to a news release.

When the homeowners left, Farmer allegedly entered a bedroom and removed a loaded Ruger .357 caliber revolver, police said in the news release.

State police in the news release allege Farmer made statements indicating an intent to harm another person and himself.

Farmer returned the firearm that he left at the residence on July 14.

Farmer was detained by Berwick police on an unrelated issue and was jailed at the Columbia County Prison.

State police charged Farmer with theft and receiving stolen property. He was arraigned by District Judge Carol A. Davenport of Shickshinny and remained jailed at the Columbia County Prison for lack of $10,000 bail.
