One man has been confirmed dead following a fire in Nescopeck Township Saturday night.
Luzerne County Coroner Dion Fernandes confirmed that James E. Velekei, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene of a fire on Wapwallopen Road.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
This marks the fifth fatal fire in Luzerne County this month. Mostly recently, an 11-year-old boy was killed in a house fire in Wilkes-Barre on Aug. 18.
